This Sunday, June 3rd, over 3,000 bicyclists will be participating in the 21st annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride around Lake Tahoe. This sold out event has cycling enthusiasts riding clockwise starting from Horizons Casinos, up the west shore with an option to head to Truckee and then down the east shore back to Horizon’s Casinos. This tour promotes the Lake Tahoe Bikeway project which is a plan to connect all bike lanes around Lake Tahoe. Not only does it have 72 miles of wonderful scenery, promote a great cause but also there are plenty of rest stops around the lake staffed by volunteers with energizing drinks, a variety of food and power bars and support.
Traffic will be delayed on Highway 89 northbound at Emerald Bay from 6:30 a.m -8:30 a.m. Please be advised that with all the cyclists on the road, plan for a little more time to get to where ever you are going! Please share the road and give a little support for this great cause for our Tahoe community.
