20th Annual Kokanee Salmon Festival
October 3 and 4, 10AM-4PM. Taylor Creek Visitor Center South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.  The 20th Annual Kokanee Salmon Festival will be held this year  at the U.S. Forest Service Visitor Center at Taylor Creek, 3 miles north of the City of South Lake Tahoe on California Highway 89. The festival is a weekend of family activities celebrating the annual spawning run of the Kokanee Salmon up Taylor Creek and the golden colors of Fall. Come enjoy the special events, great food, and meet Sammy Salmon!  This year’s celebrations include a number of events and activities that have become associated with the Salmon Festival. Back this year will be the Salmon Feed, 5k, 10k, a children’s run, children’s activities, educational programs and booths, and streamside programs. Sept 13-TOCCATA Presents Annual 9/11 Memorial Concert Series
3-5PM. Come have fun with an Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area wraps up its 2009 Big Blue Summer Music Fest with a 9/11 Memorial Concert Series dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 disaster. The program includes the Mendelssohn String Symphony, Bach Brandenburg Concerto #3 and concludes with theFaure Requiem featuring the TOCCATA Chorus. The South Lake performance is the final concert in the series on September 13.
