Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course
Rated by Golf Digest as one of “America’s Top Golf Courses”, Edgewood Tahoe is a world-class destination for golfing, dining, weddings, and special events like the Celebrity Golf Tournament. The course is challenging yet fair, and with four sets of tees to choose from, stretches from 5500 to 7379 yards. Arguably one of the most scenic golf courses in the world, Edgewood was designed by legendary architect George Fazio in 1968. Equally notable, the Edgewood Tahoe Restaurant has remained unparalleled in Lake Tahoe fine dining for over forty years and Brook’s Bar and Deck was voted one of Golf Digest’s “Best 19th Holes in America” for 2008. Lake Tahoe Golf Course
Lake Tahoe Golf Course is located in a mountain meadow surrounded by the High Sierras, and is Tahoe’s best championships golf value. The spectacular 18-hole course will challenge golfers of all levels, from beginning to accomplished player. The facility features 6,685 yards of golf, from the longest tees for a par of 71. There are practice facilities and a driving range for players looking to hone their skills, and group events are sure to be flawless with help from the Tournament Staff. Lake Tahoe Golf Course specializes in group tournaments, and handles green fees, cart fees, contests, tournament services and private banquets. Tahoe Paradise Golf Course
Tahoe Paradise Golf Course is nestled in the majestic pines of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and was established in 1960, making it Tahoe’s first executive course. It’s 18 holes of fun and challenging play, and very affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and specials are offered throughout the day for a great golf value. They also offer a Pro Shop, practice facilities and a snack bar for refueling with great hot dogs, drinks, and more. If you’re in the mood for enjoying a relaxing day regardless of your skill level, this is the course for you. Bijou Municipal Golf Course
The Bijou Municipal Golf Course was the first of the Tahoe golf courses, built in 1920 by Virgil Gilcrease. The historical course is set in tranquil Alpine Meadows with views of the Heavenly ski area and Freal Peak. It is a 9-hole regulation course, and the short layout promises to provide a fun golf outing for the whole family. This 32 par, 2002 yard course rewards good shots, and tee times are often offered at a discount. Bijou Municipal golf course includes a driving range, Pro Shop, rentals, a snack bar, and also does weddings and receptions. American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament 2011 Info Coming Soon!

The American Century Championship is considered by many to be the highlight of their summer vacation in South Lake Tahoe. The event, held annually at scenic Edgewood Golf Course, sees wide ranging star quality that other events can’t rival. Fans come from around the world to brush elbows with the favorite celebrities and to watch them compete in this charity tournament set against the incomparable backdrop of Lake Tahoe.

This year’s 21 annual 54-hole, $600,000 tournament features competing celebrities including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Ray Romano, Tony Romo, Taylor Hicks, Don Cheadle, John Elway, Marcus Allen and Ray Allen. The list of challengers is more talented than ever. The past two years, Romo has finished runner-up and third, Dan Quinn and Billy Joe Tolliver are previous champions, and Elway has been aspiring to win the event for the past two decades.

The event helps raise funds for needy causes such as Autism Speaks and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Combine the beautiful atmosphere of the lake with the chance at meeting over 75 sports and entertainment celebs and you’ve got one starry-eyed vacation.
